Recipe For Insomnia

I've struggled with insomnia for a very long time and have recently found the cure -- for now. I feel like I've tried it ALL, from not eating past 7pm, to melatonin, to solfeggio frequencies and everything in between.

LAVENDER MILK

I was gifted a bunch of lavender last weekend and decided to try some new recipes (that I will upload next month). I've always loved lavender as a flavor but I had no idea it was a sedative. I sprinkled some on top of my fresh macadamia milk (will also upload the recipe soon) and drank it before bed. I can't really remember much of what happened after but i did wake up refreshed. Melatonin used to have the same effects for me but overtime it stopped working and I've been learning about how its not the most healthiest option either.

SHOPPING LIST

  • a few branches of fresh lavender Dried lavender is okay too. You'll only need about 8 small pieces per serving. Lavender is STRONG and I do not recommend taking more than a tiny bit at a time. A few branches will last a week or two.

  • a glass of milk of your choice I used fresh macadamia milk, oat milk, and regular plant milk in a carton. I don't believe the type of milk matters, I believe it just works as a vehicle for the lavender

DIRECTIONS

  • Pour a cup of milk

  • Sprinkle eight small pieces of lavender in your milk

  • Whirl lightly

  • Drink RIGHT BEFORE going to bed, it works fast

  • Enjoy a good night's rest :)

  • You can also make this in big batches and let it sit in the fridge until ready to drink.

Marley's Notes

  • DO NOT CONSUME LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL, it is toxic for us to consume.

  • Lavender is one of many edible flowers

  • Dried lavender or fresh lavender works equally fine, fresh lavender feels more potent TO ME

  • You can find dried lavender on Amazon here or find the fresh one at most places where flowers and fresh herbs are sold

  • I do not recommend using too much of this at once because lavender is a natural sedative and can suppress your breathing if you have pre-existing respiratory issues

  • You can also add it to your joints if you like cannabis

  • Lavender works as a GREAT essential oil for anxiety

  • I de-stem my fresh lavender and store it in a jar in my pantry

I hope this helps you as much as it helped me!

Enjoy

xo, Marley
